The Asphalt Plant Manager is responsible for the management of plant operators, preventative maintenance and repairs, logistics and plant mobilizations.

Job Duties:

• Maintain and promote a safe work environment and culture.
• Manage plant operators and technicians.
• Manage preventative maintenance of plants, and breakdowns and repairs of plants.
• Daily communication and coordination with Paving Superintendent for proper scheduling.
• Review and report on plant costs and plant financials.
• Assist estimators with mix designs and mix cost.
• Assist Area Asphalt Plant Manager with developing and managing a plant budget and developing short term and long term capital plans for the asphalt plant.
• Coordinate efficient mobilization of hot plants.
• Oversee dispatch and ticketing functions.
• Submit daily reports.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers.
• Continually seek efficient ways to improve plant performance.
• Provide professional/technical advice to mechanics and operators concerning issues with equipment operations and maintenance.
• Participate in department meetings.
• Check email and voicemail on a regular basis and respond accordingly.
• Seek out and participate in appropriate training and conferences.
• Maintain and promote a clean work environment and culture.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Education & Experience

• 5 years’ experience in asphalt production.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
• Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Computer skills to include but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, and email within a network environment.
• Maintain positive attitude.
• Complete responsibilities in a congenial and collaborative manner with co-workers.
