What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Current Connecticut State Perfusion License
• ABCP (American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion) Certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Strong technical skills in the operation and maintenance of heart/lung machines and accessory equipment
• Ability to perform advanced perfusion procedures under physician supervision in adult surgical and non-cardiac procedures
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to respond promptly to on-call emergencies within a 30-minute window

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with ECMO (veno-venous and veno-arterial) support systems
• Familiarity with cardiac support devices such as Impella, IABP, HeartMate 3, and CentriMag
• Prior exposure to complex surgeries like liver transplants, HIPEC, and heart transplants

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Perfusion Technology or a related field
• At least 2 years of professional perfusion experience in a hospital setting, preferably in adult cardiac surgery or critical care

Other Requirements:

• Availability for rotating shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work within Hartford Hospital’s policies and safety protocols
• Willingness to participate in performance improvement initiatives and continuing education
