Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM / 3 shifts / week. Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The NICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care for premature and ill newborns. This role includes attending births, measuring and weighing infants, and educating new parents. The NICU Nurse works closely with the healthcare team to coordinate medical treatments and provides comfort and support to families.

Responsibilities

• Caring for infants' basic needs, such as diaper changes and feeding.


• Coordinating infants' medical treatments with the NICU physician.


• Offering comfort and support to premature and ill newborns and their families.


• Performing comprehensive patient care, including assessments and vital sign monitoring.


• Drawing blood and performing specialized procedures as needed.


• Collaborating with the healthcare team, including nurses and physicians.


• Organizing, assigning, and supervising team members as a team leader.


• Utilizing the nursing process to develop care plans and deliver patient care.


• Following hospital and unit directives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in NICU nursing.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system is required.
