Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a Transitional Care Unit requiring a HI RN license and flexibility with variable shifts.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a 32-bed Transitional Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Adult med-surg patient population with potential for tube feeding, NG/G-tube, trach care, and use of PICC/PORT
• Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:8, with 1:6 aides during the day and 1:8 during the night
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and equipment associated with chest tubes and feeding tubes
• Schedules include various shift lengths and days over a 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
• May float to Med Surg and Surgical Pediatric units as needed
• Main responsibilities include providing care for adult med-surg patients with complex needs
• Professional nursing attire required
• Orientation is provided for each unit
• Candidates must be flexible regarding shifts and scheduling, as shift preference is not guaranteed
• Must be in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to complete required Employee Health clearance

• Active HI RN license required by start date
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
• BLS certification required
• Must obtain flu vaccination or have an approved exemption prior to contract start
• Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
