Key Responsibilities:  
Communications and Marketing

  • Work with General Manager on new marketing initiatives
  • Maintain a strong social media presence with unique content creation and posts
  • Website administration and content creation
  • Develop and update sponsorship package in conjunction with GM/Board/Committee
  • Establish and maintain sponsor relationships
  • Regular written and verbal member communication (i.e weekly e-newsletters)

Rentals and Events

  • Liaise with event coordinators and General Manager/Head Ice Technician
  • Oversee ice rentals and corporate events
  • Update the online bookings calendar (ice/lounge rentals)
  • Coordinate internal and external event logistics (i.e. caterers, suppliers)

Member Services

  • Member liaison
  • Maintain member registration database
  • Manage the Curling Pro shop including inventory count, ordering, and receiving
  • Work with league and bonspiel convenors
  • Coordinate club events (i.e. golf tournament, welcome back, skate out, social nights)
  • Coordinate Adult Learn-to-Curl instructors, Try Curling instructors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College and/or university education an asset
  • Sports Management experience an asset
  • Social Media Marketing experience required
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with POS systems i.e. Clover
  • Self-disciplined and able to work a variable work schedule
  • Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and creating an environment of inclusion.
  • Efficient with Microsoft 365 and curling club / sports management software
  • Asset but not required: Certified Smart Serve, Standard First Aid and CPR with AED
  • Asset but not required: curling sport knowledge with previous curling club or equivalent sports programing experience

Our club is fully committed to providing a positive, inclusive work environment with the highest safety standards.
Founded in 1956, Dixie is a busy club with approximately 600 members curling on six sheets of professionally maintained ice. The club is open from the last week in September to late April for curling and from May to August for off-ice rentals and Pickleball programing. Monday to Friday there are five draws daily including league play and corporate team building events. Our calendar is filled on weekends with bonspiels, special events, leagues, Little Rocks, Juniors, Special Olympians, and rentals.

The seasonal nature of the business requires the Curling Coordinator to work a flexible and variable schedule. The position reports directly to the General Manager, while working with league convenors, and volunteer committees to ensure all draws, bonspiels and curling events logistics run efficiently.
