Insight Global is seeking candidates for their partner's "Senior Category Manager" opportunity:

Salary: $155K base + 15% bonus

Location: Hybrid - 4 days onsite, Fridays remote - Round Rock, TX

Start Date: ASAP – backfill due to employee departure

Position Overview:

The client is seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for electronics and EV charger technologies. This role is critical to ensuring cost-competitive continuity of supply and supporting new product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong electromechanical background and experience with contract manufacturers, electrical assembly, and supply chain strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage supplier contracts and performance (quality, delivery, cost)
• Lead commodity strategies leveraging company volumes
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
• Monitor market trends and supplier shifts
• Drive cost-out initiatives and continuous improvement with suppliers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance
• Support sourcing design changes and optimize shipping arrangements
• Expand diverse supplier spend and manage ERP setup

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years in strategic sourcing or supply chain management
• 5+ years managing PCB or electronic component commodities
• Experience with Electronic Supply Chain products and suppliers
• Strong negotiation and supplier development skills
• Familiarity with JIT programs and supplier performance metrics
• Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and energy codes
• Leadership or mentoring experience
• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking
• Clear experience managing supplier relationships and resolving performance issues
• Experience with EV charging systems
