Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Site Patrol in Silver Spring, MD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a prominent cultural institution. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the location, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry and maintain your assigned equipment in accordance with all regulations. You will interact with staff, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of Allied Universal. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when necessary, following established protocols.
• Remain alert and attentive to the unique needs and environment of cultural institution settings while performing all assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
