As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol - Full Time in Reno, NV , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned area, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry and be prepared to use authorized equipment as needed. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and report any security-related concerns or incidents according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on all incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and client site protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Possess an active armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
