Regulatory/Compliance Product Safety Counsel – Am Law 50 Firm About the Position: Our client, a prestigious global law firm, is seeking an attorney with experience in regulatory compliance and product safety matters to join its innovative practice in Chicago as a Counsel. This practice has a presence around the world, and has extensive experience responding to product safety and product liability incidents across a range of industries, including life sciences and healthcare, energy, transport, consumer products, and food and beverage. Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients on product development, testing and standards compliance, CPSC reporting, and managing national and international product recalls
  • Advise on laws and regulations impacting consumer products, including chemicals management, packaging and labeling, extended producer responsibility, and green claims
  • Represent clients in federal and state enforcement actions and investigations, including matters involving CPSC, DOE appliance efficiency standards, and California regulatory agencies
Required Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of experience in regulatory compliance, product safety, and consumer protection laws related to consumer products, food, and cosmetics
  • Experience managing multiple regulatory matters, enforcement actions, and compliance investigations
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks, including CPSC, FTC, FDA, DOE, Proposition 65, PFAS regulations, and ESG compliance
  • Experience with compliance collateral, including supply chain agreements, vendor manuals, and corporate policies
  • Knowledge of ESG & supply chain dynamics, including modern slavery laws and business and human rights issues
