The Registered Nurse will work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit, providing care to adult, acute care patients requiring specialized attention. Responsibilities include monitoring patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry, managing airways, administering BIPAP support, and caring for patients with arterial and central lines requiring titrated medicated IV infusions. The role requires adapting quickly, vigilance, and providing compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the IMCU.
- Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry.
- Manage airways and administer BIPAP support.
- Care for patients with arterial and central lines requiring titrated medicated IV infusions.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed.
- Perform peripheral line care and management.
- Administer respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks.
- Implement isolation precautions.
- Document patient care in EPIC.
- Respond to patient emergencies.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State (NYS)
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Peripheral Line Care/Management
- Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management

Special Considerations:
- Must be able to handle a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius.
- Every other weekend is required.
