Job Title: Registered Dietitian
Department: Food and Nutrition
Location: Newark Wayne Community Hospital
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: Monday-Friday days, weekend on-call rotation after training. Hybrid work model, remote schedule as discussed with manager.
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000

SUMMARY:

As a Registered Dietitian, your exceptional nutritional knowledge allows patients to receive appropriate, high quality diet plans essential to the best nutritional care.

Newark-Wayne, a 120-bed hospital in Wayne County, offers services including cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics and pulmonary care, as well as an innovative telemedicine program. The hospital has a renovated birthing center and emergency department. Newark-Wayne is a New York State-designated Stroke Center, a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders) Exemplar hospital, and a recent recipient of the WHO Baby-Friendly designation. Rehabilitative and long-term care services are provided through DeMay Living Center, an attached facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assessment - Complete nutritional assessments for all patients; provide input into Nutritional Support Service rounds for assigned patients; monitor and document patient progress.

• Diet Planning - Provide recommendations for formulations, rate and volume for all tube fed and TPN patients; instruct patients and families on special diets and general good nutrition; complete diet instructions for complex diets.

• Patient Care - Develop plan of care per clinical data, interview, diagnosis and treatment goals; provide oversight to dietetic technicians in providing patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) either in place or received within 6 months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience.

• Strong analytical, computer and communication skills.

• Exceptional customer service and patient care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
