Job Description:

• Operating the Plant in a safe and efficient manner while complying with all station procedures and environmental regulations and directing the activities on their shift.
• Monitors the operation of major plant equipment and systems and takes appropriate action to ensure they are operated safely, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements according to the Emissions Minimization Plan, in a manner consistent with maximizing availability and in a manner consistent with optimizing fuel efficiency.
• Operates assigned control systems including distributed control, water, steam, combustion, turbine generator and related components in a safe and efficient manner.
• Directs the activities of the Lead Control Room Operator, Plant Operators and Fuel Supply Operators as necessary to support the overall plant operation.
• Maintains a log of significant operating activities and events and generates required reports.
• Logs significant plant parameters as determined by plant management. Identifies and corrects problems; reports problems requiring further action to the Operations & Maintenance supervisor.
• Directs and ensures completion of required safety procedures; (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work).
• Takes measurements and readings and compares with standards; implements corrective actions within established procedures. Assists in maintaining the boiler system by adding/transferring chemicals as needed to maintain desired parameters.
• Responds to alarms in a timely manner; operates necessary equipment to effectively respond to critical situations.

Skills and Experience:

• Have a working knowledge of LOTO, confined space, P & ID's, hot work.
• Ability to use experience, analytical judgement, to plan and perform diversified work.
• Good decision-making skills to keep all crew members and site equipment safe.
• Excellent communication skills to provide clear direction and feedback to all team members on the site.
• Agility to be able to work overtime, as well as rotating shift schedules that include weekends and holidays.
• 7 - 10 Years Proven experience as Plant Operator and Sr Control Room Operator
