A Pipe Welder is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems by welding metal pipes using various techniques such as TIG, MIG, stick, and X-ray welding. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans.
• Measure, cut, and shape pipes using hand and power tools.
• Weld, braze, or solder pipes and fittings using TIG, MIG, stick, and X-ray welding techniques .
• Perform welds that meet radiographic inspection standards (X-ray quality).
• Inspect and test welds to ensure structural soundness and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools.
• Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper ventilation.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure project efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship or vocational training program preferred.
• Certification in pipe welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional welding experience , including pipe welding.
• Experience with X-ray welding and radiographic testing standards.
• Proficiency in TIG, MIG, stick, and X-ray welding.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Must successfully complete a weld test prior to employment.
