CHKD Health System operates Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Virginia’s only freestanding, full-service children’s hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, and its pediatric practices, multi-service health centers, and urgent cares throughout southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Close to 4,500 clinical and non-clinical employees make up Team CHKD, all working together to provide health, healing, and hope for 425,000 local children.

As members of CHKD Health System, CHKD Medical Group (CMG) pediatricians work closely with the full range of  pediatric specialists and  surgeons found at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. We are proud to employ more than 120 CHKD board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners in 19 primary care practices . • On-call nurse triage system is available 365 days a year.

As a CMG Pediatrician, your responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality, compassionate pediatric care in an outpatient practice setting.
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in children. 
• Building strong connections with patients and families and fostering a supportive environment is important.
• Participating in rotating on-call duties as needed.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including subspecialists, nursing staff, and on-call triage. 
• Ensuring patient care is aligned with best practices and medical guidelines.
• Engaging in continuing medical education and professional development. 

Applicants must meet these qualifications:

• Board eligible or board certified in pediatrics (if board eligible; certification must be obtained within 2 years of residency completion).
• Must possess a valid Virginia medical license.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
• Ability to build excellent rapports with children and families.
