How will you make an impact in this role?

The Quality Assurance and Regulatory Governance team is responsible for ensuring governance and oversight of regulatory reporting process. The team performs Quality Assurance reviews including process & controls testing, testing the conformity of reported data with reporting instructions and gathering, sampling, understanding, and testing the data to ensure data quality for various regulatory reporting purposes. The team partners closely with the Regulatory Report owners, Technology, Data Governance, and other stakeholders to perform the review and ensure robust governance.

The responsibilities of the QA Manager include, but are not limited to:

Lead Quality Assurance reviews which include:

Process review to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities for regulatory reporting processes.

Conformance testing to ensure compliance with the reporting guidelines issued by regulators to support regulatory reporting.

Transaction testing i.e., substantive testing of transactions, share findings, and monitor closure.

Lead data analysis of portfolios and reports in scope. Identify data elements required for testing, decipher transformation logics, and define selection approach for data sampling

Understand the master and reference data used across operational and reporting processes

Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance governed frameworks e.g., Regulatory Reporting Governance policy, Self-Identified Re-filing Assessment Framework, Regulatory Report Risk Assessment and Cross Report Reconciliation Framework as assigned and prepare key metrics

Lead, the identification, documentation, and implementation of operational controls as per Enterprise guidelines and periodic testing to ensure QA controls are effective

Work closely and coordinate with various regulatory reporting, technology, data governance, service management, teams to ensure quality assurance over the regulatory reporting processes.

Independently handle projects and drive solutions across multiple stake holders, support AXP wide projects, initiatives, reviews, and audits e.g., Federal Reserve Exam, Internal Audit Group review and others.

Lead a team of professionals with a focus on continuing to develop governance and QA review skillsets for the future.

Display thought leadership, drive process, and support work/life balance initiatives

Minimum Qualification:

5+ years of work experience in Banking/Financial Services.

Knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting.

Experience in financial analytics, reporting, data analytics, data controls and understanding of data transformation logics.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet/exceed critical deadlines and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.

Strong relationship management and conflict resolution skills with a proven track of positively collaborating, influencing, and extensively coordinating with internal and external partners.
Excellent written and verbal communications with ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience in leading and developing individuals.

Knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint).

Knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, VBA and Macro development, SQL queries and understanding of database management and SharePoint and Power Platform is a plus.

A self-starter with a passion to consistently deliver high quality service and exceed stakeholders’ expectations

Preferred Qualification:

Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting. CPA is a plus.
Knowledge of regulatory audit or process review is a plus.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
