Position Overview

The Home Loan Specialist I is an entry-level role supporting various mortgage channels. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient processes that meet business and customer service objectives. The primary focus is working with brokers and internal partners to verify and collect missing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine data entry and validation tasks.
• Initiate third-party orders (title, appraisal, hazard, flood certification, credit, etc.)
• Review and validate loan documents for accuracy
• Respond to routine calls, emails, and chat inquiries
• Assign and distribute workloads as needed
• Monitor work queues and intervene to maintain workflow efficiency
• Collaborate with multiple departments to expedite processing and resolve issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and common applications (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
• Customer service experience preferred
• Financial services or mortgage industry experience is a plus
• General understanding of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (ideal for recent graduates)
• If no degree, at least 1 year of relevant work experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
