Overview Gymnastics Assistant (Full Time, Non-Exempt) Application Closing Deadline: For best consideration, please submit your application materials by 4:00 p.m. October 6, 2025. Hiring Range is $42,655 to $49,823 annually based on qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinator, this position will assist with gymnastics operations and general leadership in the gymnastics program. Primary responsibilities include programming and supervision of gymnastics birthday parties, assistance with administrative tasks, as well as maintaining a regular schedule of gymnastics class instruction. The Gymnastics Assistant will complete program reporting and assist with special projects. In the absence of the Gymnastics Coordinator, the Gymnastics Assistant will serve as acting Gym Supervisor with a focus on safety and provide general supervision of staff, participants and occasional volunteers. Responsibilities Administers gymnastics birthday party program, including staff scheduling, general program planning and coordination, marketing efforts and customer communication with a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction and staff productivity while maintaining high levels of participation. Assist with gymnastics class program coordination and supervision for all levels from parent-tot through pre-team and competitive levels, drop-in gymnastics and gymnastics camps. Assist with hiring, training, directing, and inspecting work performed by part-time staff; assist in providing or coordinating staff training; and assist employees to correct deficiencies. May review and approve biweekly timecards. Determine staffing needs and create schedules for birthday parties. Schedule and maintain birthday party reservations; collect and track payments; confirm birthday party details 72 hours prior to event and complete after-party evaluation. Develop and implement in-house trainings for birthday party and gymnastics staff, such as spotting clinics for new hires and regular clinics for coaches as refresher throughout the year. Perform as a gymnastics instructor and/or party host, minimally 20 hours per week. Additional hours may be required. Must also be able to cover a variety of shifts to ensure adequate coverage. Assist with communication amongst staff and participants; assist with lesson plans and program agendas for all levels. Maintain records and generate reports including attendance, program, payroll documentation, incident/accident reports and personnel evaluations. Assist with development, implementation, and tracking of marketing strategies to promote programs and notify the public of District events. May be required to work special events, camps, team meets and department events. Enforce high program and risk management standards through staff training, procedures and regular review. Regularly evaluate program offerings and modify as needed; work with District staff to ensure a positive customer and program experience. Respond to public inquiries courteously; resolve complaints efficiently and conduct participant satisfaction surveys as needed. Establish and enforce class/program rules and policies for patrons and staff; assist with facility scheduling, maintenance, and registration processes. Attend meetings, trainings, and work on a regular, punctual basis; sub for instructors when available and secure substitutes for shifts unable to work. Monitor budget in conjunction with Gymnastics Coordinator; keep within approved budget; provide leadership in the absence of the Gymnastics Coordinator. Recognize emergencies, administer first aid and contact emergency personnel as needed; complete accident/incident reports timely. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age with a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of gymnastics coaching experience at recreational, pre-team and/or competitive levels. Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or lead capacity experience. Preferred knowledge of CARA league gymnastics program; combination of education and experience will be considered. Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements CPR/AED certification within 30 days of employment, and maintained thereafter. HEADS UP Concussion certification within first 30 days of employment, and maintained thereafter. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License or the ability to obtain upon hire; must be insurable by the District carrier. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Competent in gymnastics skills progressions, spotting techniques, and use of equipment; ability to lead safe, fun, and effective movement classes for children and youth across levels; strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays; proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and registration/point-of-sale software; basic math and money handling. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively with staff and the public. Physical Requirements Must be able to push, pull or balance; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance; able to stand, walk, climb, bend and reach as required; good vision and verbal communication abilities.
