Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer (Direct), CEO (Dotted Line)

Position Overview

The Styled by Collective (SBC) is seeking a polished, visionary, and results-driven Director of Private Client & Lead Stylist to lead its global private client styling division. This senior leadership role will oversee the full lifecycle of styling services and wardrobe management for our VIC clientele across North America and Europe, while serving as the primary liaison with key retail partners.

This is a hybrid creative-operational role requiring deep luxury fashion knowledge, high emotional intelligence, and strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate is fluent in luxury fashion, understands the psychology of high-net-worth clientele, and can lead both client relationships and styling operations with finesse and foresight.

Key Responsibilities

1. Styling Strategy & Execution

  • Serve as the principal stylist for top-tier clients, overseeing the complete styling lifecycle: intake, digital wardrobe audit, lookbook development, purchase recommendations, and seasonal closet planning.
  • Build elevated, head-to-toe looks aligned with each clients personal aesthetic, event calendar, and lifestyle needs across seasons and geographies.
  • Use data from platform activity, closet gaps, client feedback, and style assessments to inform styling decisions and build enduring wardrobes.
  • Maintain an expert-level working knowledge of all active SBC client wardrobes to ensure styling quality, alignment, and white-glove service.
  • Manage luxury pre-orders, trunkshows, and season launches, providing real-time recommendations and order tracking across global brands.

2. Private Client Program Leadership

  • Lead all styling services across membership tiers, one-time projects, bridal, red carpet, travel capsule requests, gifting, and occasion dressing.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for VVIC clients, ensuring a high-touch experience that fosters long-term relationships and retention.
  • Design structured onboarding flows, quarterly wardrobe reviews, and proactive styling calendars to keep clients engaged year-round.
  • Set and monitor team-wide styling KPIs, and continuously iterate on process improvements to enhance client satisfaction and outcomes.

3. Retail Partnership Management

  • Serve as onsite liaison for Bergdorf Goodman, ensuring frictionless operations between the SBC team and BG sales floor.
  • Act as the centralized point of contact for all SBC client orders across retailer partners.
  • Coordinate special orders, consignment pieces, luxury previews, and trunk shows while maintaining white-glove delivery and client confidentiality.
  • Build trusted relationships with personal shopping teams, store managers, and luxury brand reps to ensure timely access and VIP treatment.

4. Talent Development & Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor all junior stylists and styling assistants, providing real-time feedback, training, and performance reviews.
  • Design scalable onboarding flows, style guidelines, and internal SOPs to codify SBCs styling methodology.
  • Lead future hiring for the styling team in partnership with the executive team, aligning talent with company growth and service demand.
  • Ensure aesthetic and operational consistency across all client-facing work, styling decks, and digital wardrobe builds.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration With CRO (Megan Blase):

  • Align on client management strategy, key account oversight, and reporting cadence.
  • Collaborate on client lifecycle workflows, renewal strategies, and account transitions.

With CEO (Hayley Sullivan):

  • Collaborate on overall brand voice, major press-facing client activations, and thought leadership in couture and private client styling.
  • Serve as a key representative of SBC at fashion events and internal planning sessions.

With Brand Director:

  • Ensure styling output aligns with brand visual identity and campaign direction.
  • Collaborate on content needs for social, newsletters, and special initiatives.

With Tech Team:

  • Act as the stylist lead on Sartoria feedback, feature testing, and functionality optimization.
  • Translate real-world styling workflows into usable tech specs for engineering.

6. Clienteling & Market Expansion

  • Drive innovation in VIC acquisition, personalization, and retention strategies across geographies and lifestyle profiles.
  • Plan and execute styling-focused events, private shopping experiences, and luxury activations in collaboration with retail and brand partners.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at major Fashion Weeks (NY, Paris, Milan, London), attending shows and managing client pre-orders seasonally.
  • Contribute to editorial direction and trend forecasting, translating runway looks into client-ready guidance across content and styling boards.

Candidate Requirements Experience

  • 7+ years of luxury styling experience with direct client interface; 3+ years managing styling teams or overseeing private client programs.
  • Deep familiarity with high-end retail and fashion houses; prior experience with Bergdorf Goodman, FWRD, Moda Operandi, or similar is ideal.
  • Proven experience styling UHNW or celebrity/VVIP clientele with discretion, warmth, and white-glove excellence.
  • Experience managing pre-orders and custom wardrobe solutions across luxury brands and trunkshow programs.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot or similar), wardrobe software, and ability to build elevated client-facing documents in tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Strong understanding of fashion design principles, luxury materials, silhouette theory, and seasonality transitions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
