Data Scientist (SIEM / Elastic) (2025-0033) Acclaim Technical Services,founded in 2000, is a leading language, operations, and technology services company supporting a wide range of U.S. Federal agencies. ATS is actively hiring a Data Scientist with TS/SCI w/ Polygraph supporting our Engineering Services and Solutions Division in Annapolis Junction, MD. Key Responsibilities: Data Science & Engineering: Lead and execute the development of advanced machine learning models, statistical analyses, and predictive algorithms to identify security threats and anomalies within large, complex datasets. SIEM Expertise: Design, implement, and optimize SIEM solutions, particularly in Splunk and Elastic Search environments, to capture, analyze, and report on security event data. Cyber Security Collaboration: Work closely with the security operations team to integrate data-driven insights into security incident response, threat hunting, and overall security strategy. Data Integration & Management: Manage the integration of diverse data sources into the SIEM systems, ensuring the data is processed and indexed efficiently for analysis. Incident Detection & Response: Develop advanced algorithms for threat detection, alerting, and anomaly detection, focusing on the identification of potential security breaches. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers in the team, fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data science, cyber security, and SIEM systems to drive improvements in security analytics. Create and maintain data models and machine learning algorithms to identify anomalies and potential threats. Design and implement automation workflows for incident response and threat intelligence Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Requirements: Experience: 10+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years focused on SIEM engineering, specifically with Splunk and/or Elastic Search. Cyber Security Focus: Strong understanding of cyber security principles, including threat detection, incident response, and security operations. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and experience working with SIEM tools like Splunk and Elastic Search. Advanced Analytics & ML: Proven experience in applying machine learning techniques (anomaly detection, clustering, classification) to large-scale security data. Data Engineering: Experience in data ingestion, transformation, and optimization within SIEM systems, and familiarity with ETL processes. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to develop and deploy data models that address complex security challenges. Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Education: Strongly prefer Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering or computer science). A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following: designing/implementing machine learning, data mining, advanced analytical algorithms, advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, or software engineering with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB. Pay Range: There are many factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
