Conflicts Analyst I , you'll play a critical role in helping the Firm manage risk and uphold ethical standards by researching, analyzing, and reviewing conflicts related to new business and new employee hires.
Working within the Business Intake & Conflicts Department, you'll collaborate closely with attorneys and colleagues across the globe to identify, assess, and help resolve potential ethical and business-related conflicts of interest. This role offers meaningful exposure to the Firm's global operations and provides insight into the complex business relationships that shape the partnership every day. - Conflicts Research & Analysis - Process conflicts searches and conduct detailed research for new business intake and new employee hire submissions.
- Written Risk Assessment - Prepare clear, well-organized written analyses for attorneys regarding new clients, matters, and other potential business requests.
- Policy & Procedure Compliance - Verify that all searches and corporate research are complete, accurate, and consistent with Firm conflicts procedures.
- Timely Request Management - Ensure efficient processing of new business requests, following up with attorneys and colleagues as needed.
- Global Collaboration - Partner with analysts, specialists, coordinators, and attorneys worldwide to address time-sensitive conflicts issues.
- Stakeholder Communication - Respond promptly and accurately to department email inquiries and serve as a professional point of contact for the Business Intake & Conflicts Department.
- Process Improvement - Contribute to enhancements in processes, procedures, and technology to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Project & Coverage Support - Assist with special projects as assigned and provide overtime support during evenings and weekends when required.
What You'll Bring - Education - Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience - One year of experience in risk management, research, reference library work, conflicts searching, or a related field preferred.
- Analytical Thinking - Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify potential risk issues.
- Communication Skills - Clear, professional written and oral communication skills used effectively with attorneys and colleagues at all levels.
- Attention to Detail - High level of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Collaboration & Service Mindset - Team-oriented approach with a strong commitment to exceptional internal customer service.
- Adaptability - Ability to manage shifting priorities and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Conflicts-related training will be provided.

Compensation The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in San Francisco and Los Angeles. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:
Bay Area: $70,000 - $91,000
Los Angeles: $70,000 - $76,000
