Part Time Position: Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour 4 hours per day, Monday - Friday Afternoon to early evening hours Job Summary The Cleaner/Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the manufacturing facility. This position will perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, restocking supplies, and some minor maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment that meets health and safety standards.
Essential Functions Job Responsibilities - Clean and sanitize restrooms and break areas regularly.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum various floor surfaces in the production, warehouse, and office areas.
- Clean and sanitize windows, walls, doors, and other surfaces as needed.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials throughout the facility.
- Clean up spills and respond promptly to hazardous material situations or emergencies.
- Ensure restrooms and other areas are stocked with necessary supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Maintain and organize the janitor supply room, including inventory tracking and restocking of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance duties and routine inspections to identify cleaning and maintenance needs.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and in good working order.
- Collaborate with other facilities and maintenance staff to ensure a well maintained and clean facility.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE and safe chemical handling.
- Report any damage or safety hazards to management.
- Ability to keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Performs all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Company's values.
- Report to work as scheduled, on time, and able to work entire work schedule.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability - Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to use janitorial cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets.
- Ability to wear appropriate janitorial personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Possess the integrity and ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Highly adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
- Skill and ability to pay attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Ability to use mechanical tools.
- Ability to observe and identify details.
- Ability to work extended hours as scheduled, including weekends.
Physical Demands - Frequent wrist manipulation, grasping, walking, and standing.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Frequent sedentary work with lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Occasional medium work with lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to use various janitorial tools and equipment.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements to perform essential functions.
Qualifications Experience - Required:
- Previous janitorial or industrial cleaning experience.
- Experience and proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Working Environment - Standard working conditions include a temperature-controlled manufacturing and office environment.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
