Azure Cloud Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement and support cloud network solutions across client environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to translate high-level designs into deployable network configurations.
• Participate in technical discussions and working sessions with clients to gather requirements and provide implementation guidance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues across hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises).
• Maintain and optimize network configurations, ensuring alignment with best practices and compliance standards.
• Contribute to documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.
• Support the integration of cloud networking with other infrastructure components such as security, compute, and storage.
• Assist in the automation of network deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Bicep or Terraform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Delivery, PMO, and Solution Architecture to ensure successful project execution.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to reusable artifacts that accelerate delivery.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking services, including:
• VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute (with/without BGP)
• Azure Firewall and third-party NVAs (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortigate)
• Network routing, segmentation, and route redistribution
• Load balancing solutions (ALB, App Gateway, Traffic Manager, F5)
• DNS services (Azure DNS, Infoblox, WinDNS)
• Integration with third-party services (Zscaler, Cloudstrike, CDN/WAF, AWS/GCP)
• Familiarity with Azure monitoring and management tools such as Log Analytics (KQL), Application Insights, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery.
• Experience working with carrier circuits (MPLS, VPLS, point-to-point) and SD-WAN technologies (Cisco, Meraki, Viptela, VMware/Velocloud).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and security principles.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate certification required.
• AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer Associate certification strongly desired.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Juniper, or Palo Alto.
